Management Plan Review
Introduction
In accordance with the Countryside and Rights of Way Act (2000) the Government requires that a management plan is prepared for every AONB and that these plans are reviewed at least once every five years. Management plans are key documents in setting out how the natural beauty of AONBs should be conserved and enhanced. The plans should incorporate the views of residents as well as public, private and voluntary bodies.
Management Plan Review
The current management plan (2004-2009) for the Malvern Hills AONB is being reviewed. The first period of consultation took place between 1st November 2007 and 31st January 2008. Comments submitted during this consultation have been used to draft a revised management plan for the period 2009 to 2014. We would welcome your comments on this draft revised management plan before Friday 22nd August 2008 (see below).
Environmental Report
In accordance with the Strategic Environmental Assessment regulations (2001/42EC) we have also prepared an environmental report for the draft management plan. This document identifies the likely impacts on the environment that may arise from the implementation of the management plan. It also identifies alternative courses of action to avoid or mitigate any adverse impacts. We would also welcome your comments on this draft environmental report (see below).
