Managing the AONB

Introduction

Land within the AONB is managed by a variety of individuals and bodies, ranging from the Malvern Hills Conservators - a public body established by Act of Parliament - to large private estates and small community Trusts. The stewardship of the of the area lies principally in the hands of these people.

The AONB Partnership does not own or manage any land itself. Its role is to provide a broad framework for the care of the area and to support all those bodies that are involved in looking after it.

There are many features and qualities within the Malvern Hills AONB that make it special. This section provides brief examples of the kind of initiatives that are being carried out to conserve and enhance the different elements of the AONB. Links are provided to signpost visitors to further information. Alternatively, please contact the AONB Unit to find out more about the management of the area.
